Throughout my life, I have enjoyed taking pictures. I can remember getting my first camera, a Polaroid, for my 8th birthday. I loved photographing my friends, cats, hamsters, & trees. Over time my love for photography evolved so I decided to enhance my talent with an Associates Degree from Ivy Tech. I have been a professional photographer since 2006 as the owner of Lorrie’s Photography. While running my own business, I continued to grow my photography skills by being what I like to refer to as a “professional photographer’s assistant”. I worked closely with several incredibly talented photographers in and around the Evansville area and continue to maintain a close relationship with all of them, allowing me to bounce ideas off of them and continue to adapt to the ever-evolving world of photography.
In 2008, I landed my dream job as a “per diem” newborn photographer at The Women’s Hospital. In September of 2015, I became the exclusive photographer at The Women’s Hospital. I am honored to continue doing what I love full-time. I take pride in knowing I help preserve such a special memory for families to cherish forever.
In 2020, my photography business was shut down for 3 months as we were considered non-essential workers at the hospital. I decided to take a leap and open my very own photography studio. I love being in the studio on my days off from the hospital!
Family is of utmost importance to me, which is essentially why I work so hard doing what I love to provide the best possible future for my 2 sweet children. I feel they are incredibly fortunate to have two hard-working parents for role-models and hope they understand why we do it! I feel I am fortunate to have a supportive husband to help take on the responsibilities of raising our family together. I also have 3 cats, a dog, and 4 fish. The cats like to take turns keeping my lap warm during editing marathons. When time allows, camping with my family is my favorite escape!
